Decode the jargon on your quotation — what DCR and ALMM mean, and whether TOPCon panels are worth it.
DCR and ALMM — the two words that decide your subsidy
- DCR (Domestic Content Requirement): both cells and modules made in India. Mandatory for PM Surya Ghar subsidy.
- ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers): MNRE's approved list. Only ALMM-listed modules can be used in subsidy projects.
If a quotation offers cheaper non-DCR panels, you will lose ₹78,000+ in subsidy.
Mono-PERC vs TOPCon
| | Mono-PERC | N-type TOPCon | |---|---|---| | Efficiency | 20.5–21.5% | 22–22.8% | | Degradation (year 1 / annual) | 2% / 0.55% | 1% / 0.40% | | Temperature coefficient | −0.35%/°C | −0.30%/°C (better in UP summers) | | Price | Lower | ~5–8% higher |
For a 3 kW roof-limited home, TOPCon gives ~5% more units for life — usually worth it.
